This is my version of a BLOG. I am not using any special software, just posting info on the East Penn Web site. I’ll try to keep this page up to date with happenings from EPTC members. Inclusions in this section will be deleted as they grow old. If you are a member participating in a “Trolley Activity” send me the info at bob@dietrichsfam.com and I will add it if appropriate. I get the final decision. Note that unless otherwise indicated these are activities of individual members and not EPTC sanctioned events.

I’m updating
the Meet info a little and posting an upcoming event – upcoming soon.
The Meet was held at The Greater Philadelphia Expo Center At Oaks on May 13 – 14, 2011. By all accounts the it was a huge success. But that would not have happened without the hard work of many club members. I know I'm going to miss someone and not give enough credit where due but I want to thank the following people. First and foremost was Charlie Long who, as always, did just about everything associated with the Meet. John J Gallagher organized the room, assigned dealer tables and controlled traffic during setup and breakdown. David Gallagher made all announcements and was available to take care of any problems that arrived while trying to keep an eye on his modules. It seemed like Gertrude Barringer was at the registration desk during the whole Meet showing others what to do and checking badges. Thanks to the clinic presenter Bob Robbins, Ken Spengler Et. Al., and John V Gallagher who also did a great job organizing the WIP again this year. And a special thanks to those of you who asked what can I do to help, I can't list names because I don't know who was helping where but there were plenty of folks lending assistance where needed.
We set an attendance record with 577 paying and an 153 family members. 77 dealers took about 160 tables causing us to expand to the second room. Except for the folks who overflowed to the second room there are very few complaints about the facility. From my standpoint the Expo Center staff could not have done more for us. Every request was filled quickly and cheerfully and often we didn't have to ask.

In response to a
request on a Yahoo news group we will attempt to post a list of trolley clubs
on the East Penn Trolley/Hobby Links page.
But we can’t do it without knowing where these clubs are
located. So if you belong to any
trolley club, other than East Penn, please send the club Name, Location,
Contact and other pertinent information, and web address if applicable to bob@dietrichsfam.com. If we get a significant number of clubs
to list we’ll make it happen.

East Penn modules were set up.
In the Clothier Auditorium as usual.
East Penn held their bi-annual Mini Meet this weekend in St. Patrick’s church basement thanks to Fr. Bud Breslin. The Mini Meet is held in opposite years of the National Meet and it a chance for us to set up modules and get together for some trolley enjoyment. Turnout was less than years past, possible because it is a month later than usual.
East Penn O scale modules made an appearance at the Boston Trolley Meet. Our guys received a warm welcome and a tremendous amount of help from the “locals” getting set up for the show. Here are some photos.
The work session turned out to be more N scale operation than anything. Those who came enjoyed themselves immensely.
Another enjoyable gathering of East Penn folks this weekend with 17 on Saturday and 19 appearing on Sunday. As at the last few sessions the big activity was the N Scale equipment running atop several tables. Several folks brought modules and plans to work on and, when I was there, there was no shortage of advice for anyone who wanted it. I apologize for not getting all the names but the one guy we need to hold up is Rich Crooks who does it all at these sessions. I also need to apologize to Rich for not being around to help clean up the hall at the end of the evening.
